The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has announced that music star Stonebwoy will headline the 50th SWAG Awards on November 15, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre. The event will merge sporting excellence with vibrant entertainment as SWAG celebrates fifty years of honoring Ghana’s top athletes.

The Golden Jubilee edition promises an exciting mix of sports recognition and live music. Stonebwoy’s performance adds cultural flair and highlights the ceremony’s prestige. His appearance also reinforces SWAG’s commitment to blending sports, art, and national pride.
Known for his energetic blend of Afro-dancehall, reggae, and Afropop, Stonebwoy represents the passion and resilience that define Ghana’s sporting spirit. His live performance will deliver unmatched energy, featuring dynamic choreography and powerful vocals that reflect the excitement of the nation’s champions.

The SWAG Golden Jubilee Awards celebrate Ghana’s rich sporting legacy. This milestone event will honour current achievers and legendary figures who shaped the country’s sports history. It will also inspire a new generation of athletes to strive for greatness.
Notable nominees include football legends Abedi Pele and Azumah Nelson, and current stars Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, and Jordan Ayew. Other nominees are Kwesi Appiah, Benjamin Asare, Razak Simpson, Stephen Amankona, Desmond Pappoe, Mathias Ashitey, George Dowuona, Grace Asantewaa, and Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah.
The SWAG Club of the Year 2025 category features a strong lineup. Police Ladies (Women’s League and Super Cup Champions), Faith Ladies (FA Cup Champions), Kotoko SC (FA Cup and Champion of Champions winners), and Bibiani Gold Stars (League Champions) will all compete for the honor.
Finalists for Technical Official of the Year include Daniel Laryea, Ghana’s leading FIFA referee; Francis Yeboah, an international badminton referee; and Warrant Officer Clement Smith, a top athletics official from the Ghana Armed Forces.

Distinguished guests will grace the ceremony, including Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff of the Republic of Ghana, who will serve as Guest of Honour. Adding global prestige, Gianni Merlo, President of the Association of International Sports Press (AIPS), will also attend.
