Media personality MC Portfolio has responded to BullGod’s claim that music videos have lost their relevance.
During an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, MC Portfolio expressed his views on the significance of music videos in modern artistry.
“Not having a music video is unprofessional,” he stated while disagreeing with BullGod’s assertion.
He stressed that in a highly competitive industry, the lack of visually compelling content can weaken an artiste’s brand, making them appear less serious to potential investors.
“It doesn’t really give your brand the level of reverence it deserves,” he added.
Earlier, artiste manager and music expert BullGod had advised musicians against investing in music videos, arguing that they are no longer commercially viable as audience engagement with video content has declined.
“Do not waste time making music videos in 2025; it no longer makes sense,” he asserted, emphasizing that “people don’t even consume them anymore.”
MC Portfolio’s remarks underscore the growing importance of visual content in the music industry, where a strong video presence enhances an artiste’s brand and reach.
