Third Edition of Ghana Chieftaincy Awards and Royal Investment Summit Officially Launched

The third edition of the Ghana Chieftaincy Awards and the Royal Investment Summit has officially been launched in Accra, signaling a broader focus on environmental awareness, investment, and tourism.

Held under the theme “A United Front for Environmental Awareness, Royal Investment and Tourism Promotion”, the launch event took place on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel in North Ridge. This year’s edition expands beyond celebrating excellence in traditional leadership to include critical areas such as environmental advocacy and economic development.

The launch was held under the auspices of His Majesty Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII, Paramount Chief of the Abeadze Traditional Area and Board Chairman of the Ghana Chieftaincy Awards.

The main ceremony is scheduled for October 3rd and 4th, 2025, at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

Speaking at the launch, Nana Obokese Ampah, CEO of the Obokese Foundation, which organises the event, highlighted four thematic pillars:

  1. Strengthening the institution of chieftaincy
  2. Women and youth empowerment
  3. Rural development support
  4. Diaspora integration

Nana Obokese also announced a strategic partnership with The Blackstar Experience for the upcoming event.

Rex Owusu Marfo, Co-ordinator of the Blackstar Experience, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the initiative, stating:

“Together with the Obokese Foundation, we envision a Ghana where royal investments create real opportunities for youth and women. By harnessing the influence of chieftaincy, we can drive ethical investment, revive cultural enterprises, and generate meaningful employment.”

Also known as the Nananom Honours, the Ghana Chieftaincy Awards recognise outstanding traditional rulers who demonstrate visionary leadership, promote good governance, and contribute to cultural and community development.
