Ghanaian rapper Edem has disclosed that his ongoing efforts to get fellow artiste Agbeko the professional care he desperately needs have suffered a major setback, after the embattled musician refused to enter a psychiatric rehabilitation facility despite extensive attempts to assist him.
In a candid update shared on X on 17 November 2025, Edem revealed that he had “exhausted every possible option” in trying to support Agbeko, whose long-running struggle with substance dependency has taken a visible toll on both his personal life and music career.
Detailing the day’s events, Edem explained that he dedicated the entire day to his colleague’s welfare — taking Agbeko to eat, then to a salon to tidy up his appearance, as he looked noticeably unkempt. Later, the duo made their way to the Pantang Health Facility, where arrangements had already been secured for Agbeko to begin a structured rehabilitation programme.
However, according to Edem, everything came to an abrupt halt when Agbeko refused to enter the facility, leaving the team disheartened. “It is with deep disappointment that I inform well-wishers and family that the entire team followed up on Agbeko, and we did everything possible to help him find a new direction,” he wrote.
Public concern for Agbeko had intensified weeks earlier, following a viral video posted by DJ Bridash on 28 October 2025. The footage captured a disoriented and dishevelled Agbeko approaching Hitz FM’s Andy Dosty on the street, pleading for money to “buy some items.” The video sparked widespread conversations about the rapper’s wellbeing and the urgent need for intervention.
Edem’s latest update has reignited calls for sustained support for Agbeko, with many fans hoping he eventually accepts help before his situation worsens.
