Buruku Rock, a 200-foot sandstone pillar. Sits atop a mountain between Kwahu Tafo and Adowso. Buruku is the most powerful god in Kwawu’s history. He manifests himself in an imposing Shrine of Rock, which is around 500 metres by 300 metres and is placed on a hill.
It is thought that Buruku appeared out of nowhere one Sunday to defend the Kwawus against war-like people during the early years of their settlement on the Kwawu Ridge. Buruku was known for his spiritual abilities and medical expertise. Buruku never utilized His talents to curse anyone.
