At the inauguration ceremony held in Accra, the Minister highlighted the significance of the board as a statutory requirement under the Civil Service Act, 1993 (Act 327). Referencing Sections 39 and 40 of the Act, she explained that every ministry is mandated to establish such a board to ensure continuous consultation and expert guidance in policy decisions.

“The board is expected to foster ongoing dialogue between the Ministry and its service users, and to advise the Minister on policies, planning, objectives, and operational strategies,” she stated.

The Minister emphasized the high expectations placed on board members, noting that their expertise and commitment would be critical in helping the Ministry achieve its goals.

“Anyone nominated to this board must be not only knowledgeable but also possess the skills and experience needed to help deliver on the Ministry’s mandate and support its agencies,” she added.

She further assured the board of her readiness to collaborate and listen to their input:

“Stakeholder contributions are invaluable. I am fully open to your guidance and support.”

The newly formed board will act as a strategic bridge between the Ministry and the public, contributing to the advancement of key initiatives within the tourism, cultural, and creative arts landscape.
