As part of the Ghana Culture Week 2025 activities, an inter-schools debate was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School. The participating schools included St. Mary’s Senior High School, Tema Senior High School, Design and Technology Institute, and St. Thomas Aquinas.

Defending champions St. Thomas Aquinas successfully retained their title after defeating Design and Technology Institute in the finals. In addition to the overall winners, Iris Bekoe of Tema Senior High School was recognized as the Most Knowledgeable Debater, while Obeng Mary Acquah received the award for Most Eloquent Debater.
The panel of judges for the competition included Dr. Sarah Dogbadzi and Dr. Eyram Fiagbedzi, both from the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, alongside veteran playwright and actor Abeiku Sagoe.
This year marks the third edition of the inter-schools debate since the expansion of the Ghana Culture Week celebrations three years ago.
The Ghana Culture Week Celebrations is an initiative of the Ghana Culture Forum (GCF), a civil society organization comprising associations, organizations, and individuals within the cultural and creative industries. The celebrations feature various activities, and on Friday, March 15, the GCF partnered with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to commemorate the event with a symposium, stakeholders forum, and the Taste 68@68 Food Fair at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra.
The theme for this year’s Ghana Culture Week is “Our Culture, Our Strength: Shaping Ghana for Global Impact.”
