Ghana’s Eco-Tourism Gets a Major Boost with the Launch of We-Ape Adventure Park in Aburi.

Ghana’s eco-tourism and adventure sector has taken a bold leap forward with the launch of the We-Ape Mega Zipline and Adventure Park. Located in the serene forest of Aburi in the Eastern Region, this world-class attraction offers a fresh experience in outdoor recreation.
Touted as one of the country’s most exciting destinations, We-Ape promises to attract a wide audience. These include thrill-seekers, families, corporate groups, and students.
The park spans 3.5 acres of untouched rainforest. It offers a range of heart-racing activities such as canopy walks, cable biking, net obstacles, and fast ziplines. Notably, there are two obstacle courses: a Family Course for both children and adults, and a Fitness Course for guests seeking a physical challenge.
In addition to these activities, We-Ape offers modern facilities. These include a café, well-equipped conference rooms, and a large field for group activities. Therefore, it is ideal for team-building events, offsite retreats, and workshops.
To support education, the park has introduced an environmental experiential learning program for schools. The program blends outdoor learning with sustainability education. As a result, students can explore biodiversity while learning to care for the environment.
At the opening ceremony on May 6, government officials and tourism leaders gathered to celebrate the milestone.

William Adzraku, Executive Director of We-Ape, shared his excitement:
“We-Ape has been a passion project years in the making. We are proud to bring something new, world-class, and completely different to Ghana’s tourism space.”
Emma Wenani, Managing Director of Global Media Alliance Ghana and Guest of Honour, emphasized the park’s relevance:

“In a world becoming increasingly urban and digital, nature-based spaces like We-Ape are crucial. They reconnect us with nature, offer peaceful escapes, and encourage both learning and conservation. This is more than an experience—it’s a movement.”
Supporting the park’s educational mission, Dr. Jones Quartey from the University of Ghana added:

“The rich natural environment and educational facilities at We-Ape make its learning program deeply impactful for students.”
Clearly, We-Ape is more than an amusement park. With its focus on nature, education, and wellness, it offers a lifestyle destination where adventure and learning go hand in hand.
