‘Vibes The Movie’ Pits Big Ghun Against Jeffrey Nortey

They are witty, entertaining, and sharp — qualities that budding filmmaker Big Ghun and comic actor/content creator Jeffrey Nortey have built their names on with “The Vibes” in just a year.

Portraying the duo Lil Pui (Jeffrey) and Obolo Tui (Big Ghun), the pair have won audiences over with their creativity and relatable storytelling on social media.

What started as a weekly digital series mixing rap, comedy, and everyday tales of Ghanaian youth has grown into a national sensation. In only a year, The Vibes has pulled in over 10 million views across platforms and featured several high-profile personalities who added their unique touch to the phenomenon.

Riding on this success, the brand is making a leap from social media to the big screen with a full-length musical comedy-drama, Vibes The Movie. Directed by Big Ghun, the film premieres on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall and West Hills Mall.

According to Big Ghun, born Nicholas Tettey Nartey, the movie delivers the same infectious energy that made the series a household favorite — humor, music, and authentic portrayals of Accra’s urban lifestyle — but on a much grander scale.

Beyond his on-screen presence, Big Ghun continues to establish himself as a multi-talented force in the entertainment industry. He wears many hats — musician, director, producer, influencer, and entrepreneur. Known also as “Small Boy Sugar Daddy,” he serves as Managing Director of PB Studios Africa Company Limited, a production house specializing in commercials, TV shows, films, documentaries, and animations.

His growing reputation is backed by accolades; notably, Leaked — a film he co-directed in 2013 — won the MultiChoice Talent Factory Award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs).

With confidence in the film’s potential, Big Ghun believes Vibes The Movie could achieve similar milestones once it premieres, cementing its place as a defining piece of Ghanaian pop culture.
