To sharpen its policy direction and deepen stakeholder engagement, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts (MoTCCA) has inaugurated its Ministerial Advisory Board. The board brings together professionals and institutional representatives tasked with driving the sector forward.

The inauguration took place on July 22, 2025, at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Accra. Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie, who presided over the ceremony, explained that the board’s creation is backed by Sections 39 and 40 of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (Act 327). She emphasized the board’s role in aligning ministry decisions with sound policies and legal frameworks.
“Our Ministry oversees 13 agencies,” she stated. “We must ensure our decisions are grounded in law to move forward with unity and purpose.”
The Minister commended the board’s diverse expertise and reaffirmed her commitment to inclusive, collaborative governance. As part of a leadership restructuring, she announced the appointments of Mr. Divine Owusu Ansah as Director for Culture and Dr. Tamakloe as Director for Tourism. A new Director for Creative Arts will be named soon.

Chief Director Mr. Joseph Kwasi Amoah, who officially opened the event, acknowledged delays in forming the board. He said logistical and administrative challenges had hindered the process but are now resolved.
“The absence of the board meant we lacked critical guidance,” he noted. “We’re now prepared to push the Ministry’s mandate forward.”
The ceremony concluded with Minister Gomashie administering the oath of office. She expressed confidence in the board’s ability to shape Ghana’s tourism, culture, and creative arts agenda meaningfully.
The newly formed Advisory Board includes:
- Yussif Issaka Jajah – Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts
- Mr. Joseph Kwasi Amoah – Chief Director, MoTCCA
- Comfort Aki Dede Ashiagbor – Ministry of Education
- Mr. Noah Tumfo – Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry
- Mr. Richard Gyasi – Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development
- Mr. Kwasi Adu – Ministry of Finance
- Mr. Ahuma Bosco Ocansey – Ghana Culture Forum
- Dr. Kwasi Eyison – Ghana Tourism Federation
- Naa Juyoo Oshedu Woblor Jueteer Tsofayelor – Cultural advocate and queen mother
The Ministry expects the board to offer strategic counsel. This, it believes, will boost growth in the tourism, culture, and creative arts sectors—while supporting national development.
