The highly anticipated Nationalism Park is set to officially open its doors to the public on December 20, 2024. This event marks a significant milestone in celebrating unity, cultural pride, and national heritage as part of the December in Gh festivities.

Nationalism Park is a unique space dedicated to honoring the rich history of our nation, highlighting the evolution of our identity, resilience, and the collective aspirations of our people. The opening ceremony promises to be an inspiring showcase of art and culture, paying homage to the heroic movements and pivotal milestones that have shaped the nation’s story.

The launch of Nationalism Park invites all citizens to reflect on the core values of patriotism, unity, and progress. It aims to serve as a hub for dialogue, education, and celebration, fostering a sense of shared purpose and belonging.

Speaking about the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, remarked, “Nationalism Park is a site for national, community, and social cohesion, where Ghanaians can come together to honor our past heroes and leaders.”

The park is a collaborative effort involving the Ghana Tourism Authority, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, and the National Security, designed to transform the site into a world-class tourist destination.

Nationalism Park features include a city lighting park, monuments honoring Nii Kwabena Bonnie III and symbolizing national pride with an egg on rocks, a restaurant, a snack bar, a children’s play area, and other attractions. Furthermore, the park is expected to boost tourism by driving local economic activity, creating jobs, and enhancing hospitality services in the surrounding areas.

Strategically located between Independence Square and the Accra Sports Stadium, Nationalism Park is poised to become a landmark destination for both locals and visitors.
