The National Theatre of Ghana, in partnership with its three resident groups, is set to captivate audiences with a diverse lineup of events in December. The institution’s 2024 “December in Ghana” calendar, running from the 12th to the 21st of December, will showcase a rich blend of Ghanaian traditional and contemporary dances, as well as live musical performances and stage dramas.
Organizers highlight that the event aims to raise awareness of Ghanaian art and cultural values, fostering pride and respect for the nation’s heritage. It also seeks to entertain both local and international cultural enthusiasts, offering them the opportunity to explore the uniqueness of Ghana’s culture, art, and entertainment.
The schedule includes the following highlights:
- 12th December: Highlife Jam by the National Symphony Orchestra
- 13th December: A contemporary dance performance by the National Dance Company, themed “Esoyor”
- 14th December: “Bride of the Gods” presented by the National Drama Company
- 15th December: “King’s Dilemma”, a humorous dance drama by the National Dance Company
- 21st December: “The Song of Umbele” presented by the National Drama Company
All events will take place at the National Theatre Exhibition Hall and the Mini-Amphi Theatre (Folk’s Place) at 6:00 PM each day
