Ghana Culture Forum Launches New Website at Accra Tourist Information Centre
The Ghana Culture Forum unveiled its new website during a launch event at the Accra Tourist Information Centre on November 26, 2024. The platform is designed to serve as a hub for information and educational content on Ghana’s rich arts, culture, and heritage.
Speaking at the event, Nana Otuo Owoahene Acheampong, Chairman of the Forum, stressed the importance of the website in driving engagement and visibility.
“We are open to contributions that ensure the website remains active. Without an active online presence, conducting business becomes challenging, so this initiative is both crucial and timely,” he stated.
He also revealed plans to announce the Forum’s upcoming programs, adding, “In January 2025, we will unveil our activities for the year, focusing on advocacy as our core mandate.”
Carl Ampah, UNESCO’s Programmes Officer for Culture in Ghana, underscored the significance of the Ghana Culture Forum and the new website, emphasizing its potential to connect young people to their cultural roots.
“The website will help young people understand their identity and take pride in it, no matter where they are,” Ampah said. He also highlighted the availability of resources on Africa’s history from an African perspective, noting that UNESCO’s contributions could be incorporated into the site.
The Ghana Culture Forum seeks to empower cultural practitioners, advocate for critical legislative reforms, and drive research initiatives within the cultural and creative industries.
