King Promise Wins Artiste of the Year at #TGMA26; King Paluta Takes Home Most Popular Song.
Terminator hitmaker King Promise was crowned Artiste of the Year at the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), held on Saturday, May 10, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
He faced tough competition from fellow nominees King Paluta, Stonebwoy, Black Sherif, Joe Mettle, Kweku Smoke, and Team Eternity. In total, King Promise walked away with four awards, including Best AfroPop Song, Best Afropop/Afrobeats Song, Album/EP of the Year, and the coveted Artiste of the Year title.
Rapper King Paluta earned the Most Popular Song of the Year award with his fan-favorite track Aseda.
Other notable winners on the night included Empress Gifty, Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata, Esther Godwyll, Kweku Smoke, KiDi, Team Eternity Ghana, and Tulenkey.
Veteran gospel artist Yaw Sarpong was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his immense contribution to the gospel music industry.
The night kicked off with a performance from Ayisi, followed by Yaw Darling, who was named Unsung Artiste of the Year.
