Ghanaian rap icon Sarkodie has taken to social media to pay tribute to Edem’s debut album The Volta Regime, calling it one of the most iconic bodies of work in the country’s music history.

Sharing a screenshot of the album on Apple Music via Twitter, Sarkodie reminisced about his first encounter with Edem, recalling how he foresaw the rapper’s impact on the music scene even when others were doubtful. “I don’t hear language, I hear greatness,” he remarked, referencing Edem’s signature Ewe rap style.
He wrapped up his message by praising Edem’s sustained relevance and lyrical excellence, saying, “Big up my brother, you’re still on my list of favourite emcees,” affirming his enduring respect for the Volta-born artist.
