Robert Klah Advocates for More Education on TGMA Rules

Robert Klah, Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Ghana, has responded to concerns raised by musicians regarding the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) nomination process.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Klah noted that many criticisms of the awards scheme stem from a lack of understanding about its processes.

“So, in some of my engagements, I realize that some pundits ask questions not to seek answers but to prove us wrong. Rather than trying to understand the scheme, they complain,” he explained.

He further pointed out that some individuals make uninformed remarks about TGMA because they are not genuinely interested in learning how it operates.

“Some people ask questions but don’t wait for the full response before forming their own conclusions. Instead of seeking knowledge, they project misinformation, assuming it to be factual,” he added.

Despite these challenges, Klah emphasized the need for continued education about the scheme, ensuring that new and existing artists remain informed about its rules.

“I see this as a general issue. What we must do is consistently educate and train people. As new artists enter the industry, they need to understand how the system works,” he said.

Charterhouse, according to Klah, remains committed to equipping industry players with the necessary knowledge.

“Education never stops. It is our responsibility to reduce misinformation and help people better understand the scheme,” he affirmed.

In addition to providing information through their website and social media platforms, the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards also host annual music summits and stakeholder engagements to educate industry players on various topics, including the rules and nomination process.
