Public Fury Mounts as Shocking Video Shows Landlord savagely Attacking Wife; Calls for Arrest Intensify

A chilling video showing a Ghanaian landlord, known as Bra Yaw, violently attacking his wife has ignited a firestorm of anger across social media, with many demanding his immediate arrest and prosecution.

The secretly recorded clip — captured by a brave female tenant — reveals a scene that many have described as one of the most disturbing acts of domestic violence to surface online this year. In the video, a visibly enraged Bra Yaw drags his wife out of their bedroom, violently strips her of her clothing, and leaves her completely exposed in the full view of the compound. What follows is a relentless assault, as he strikes her repeatedly with both his bare hands and sticks snatched from the ground, ignoring her desperate cries for mercy.

The graphic nature of the footage has left many Ghanaians horrified, prompting an avalanche of reactions on X and Facebook. Users tagged the Ghana Police Service in their posts, urging the authorities to “act now” and describing the assault as “a disgrace,” and “a horrifying reminder of how unsafe many women still are in their own homes.”

Several human rights organisations and domestic violence advocacy groups have also stepped in, issuing stern statements condemning the act and calling for urgent intervention. They emphasized that the attack not only violates the victim’s dignity but also highlights the persistent and dangerous culture of silence around domestic abuse.

At one point in the recording, the victim’s trembling voice can be heard begging her husband to forgive her — a plea that only seems to fuel his aggression as he continues beating her without hesitation.

As the video continues to circulate widely, public pressure is mounting on the Ghana Police Service to track down and arrest Bra Yaw immediately. Many fear for the woman’s safety, stressing that swift action could prevent an even more tragic outcome.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement, but Ghanaians nationwide are demanding that justice be served without delay.
