Patch Bay and friends set to light up Gold Coast Restaurant and Bar this Saturday

With nearly 20 years of captivating audiences across the country, Patch Bay Band is gearing up for a landmark moment—its first-ever headline concert.

Known for supporting other artists as guest performers or backing musicians, the band will finally take center stage on Saturday, July 26, at the Gold Coast Restaurant and Bar in Accra. This milestone marks a new chapter in their musical journey.

Band leader and 2017 TGMA Instrumentalist of the Year, Philip Acquah, shared his excitement about the upcoming show. He revealed that fans have long called for a standalone Patch Bay concert, and the band is thrilled to finally deliver.

“This has been a dream we’ve wanted to realize for years. We’re excited to share our own music and vibe directly with our fans,” Acquah said. “We’ll perform original tracks from our soon-to-be-released EP, and we’ll follow it up with another concert in December.”

While the group is no stranger to live performance, they are going all out to ensure the night is unforgettable. Audiences can expect a rich blend of original songs and popular dance hits, reimagined in Patch Bay’s signature style to keep guests on their feet.

The concert will also feature performances from celebrated artists like Akwaboah, Lamisi, and Becca—all of whom have shared the stage with the band in the past. Rising talents Nene and Fiifi Bissue will charm the crowd with soulful vocals and acoustic sets.

Poetry lovers are in for a treat with spoken-word acts by Nana Asaase and Timmy, while renowned comedian Foster Romanus will deliver doses of laughter with his unique brand of humor. The show kicks off at 8:00 PM.

Acquah revealed that this concert is just the beginning of a series of headline events Patch Bay hopes to stage across Ghana.

Currently, the band features a powerhouse lineup including 2018 TGMA Instrumentalist of the Year Dominic Quarchie (guitar), 2021 winner Nana Yaw Safo (drums), Derrick Oduro (bass), Benjamin Nii Armah (percussion), Bright Sarpong (keyboard), and Yaw Moore (sequencer).

Their vocal front is equally strong with Beryl Stephenson, Pearl Ellis, Deborah Adjei (Daakyehemaa), Nii Barrow, and lead vocalist Frank Amankwaa, also known as Kwaku Future.
