Nana Ama McBrown and others recognized at the Ghana Leadership Awards

In a night dedicated to celebrating outstanding achievements, Ghanaian media icon and actress Nana Ama McBrown was awarded “Media Personality of the Year” at the Ghana Leadership Awards, held last Saturday at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel. She joined 29 other distinguished leaders and influencers recognized for their contributions across various sectors.

Since its inception in 2009, the Ghana Leadership Awards has honored individuals excelling in fields such as politics, religion, economics, traditional leadership, journalism, and business. These awards celebrate excellence and leadership that contribute to Ghana’s progress and the African continent at large.

Nana Ama McBrown, celebrated for her dynamic career in media and entertainment, received recognition for her significant role in advancing Ghana’s media landscape.

With her engaging presence and connection with audiences, she has left an indelible mark across television, film, and radio, exemplifying professionalism and earning widespread admiration.

In addition to McBrown, other leaders were recognized for their accomplishments. Engr. Richard Ben Debrah, President of the Local Government Service Engineers Association, received the award for “Ghana’s Most Outstanding Industry Leadership” for his impactful contributions to engineering in local government.

Apostle Okoh Agyemang earned an international award for his leadership and humanitarian work, while Maame Ode, President of the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG), and Mr. Samuel Afotey Otu were honoured for their leadership in the judicial sector.

Over the years, the Ghana Leadership Awards has celebrated prominent figures including past and present presidents such as H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo, H.E. John Mahama, and H.E. J.J. Rawlings. Past honorees have also included former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, former Auditor-General Yaw Daniel Domelevo, JUSAG President Alex Nartey, and Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Bagbin, recognizing those who have significantly impacted Ghanaian society.
