Ghana’s vibrant new sound is making a powerful mark on the global stage, with a wave of fresh talent pushing boundaries and capturing international attention.
Spotify has just unveiled its Global Impact List for the first half of 2025, highlighting the top 30 most-exported Ghanaian songs based on global streaming data—and the results confirm Ghana’s growing influence in world music.

Moliy leads the charge
Topping the chart is Moliy’s energetic remix, “Shake It To The Max (FLY)”, now officially the most exported Ghanaian song for H1 2025. Her global rise—from BET Awards Pre-Show to Coachella’s Desert Pre-Fest and AfroNation—underscores Ghana’s futuristic pop sound taking flight.
Black Sherif reigns supreme
While Moliy opens the list, Black Sherif dominates it. With a staggering 15 songs featured, “Blacko” showcases his unmatched ability to fuse deep storytelling with sonic innovation. From the soulful “Lord I’m Amazed” to high-octane hits like “Green Light” featuring Buju Banton, his impact is undeniable.

The new wave rises
Emerging stars like Olivetheboy, Lasmid, Jubed, and AratheJay are also making international noise. Olivetheboy scores multiple entries including “Survivor” and “Screaming Beauty”. Lasmid’s viral hit “Olivia” and Jubed’s emotional “Ruwa” resonate far beyond Ghana. AratheJay adds fire with “Fire” featuring Bella Shmurda, while Gyakie keeps the love alive with “Cheat On You” and “Sankofa”.
“What’s exciting about this list is how diverse and fearless the rising talent is,” says Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa. “These artists are blending tradition with a modern edge. It’s Ghana’s moment—and this generation is owning it.”
The full Top 30 list reflects Ghana’s expanding footprint on the global music map, powered by authentic voices and bold creativity.
