Grammy-nominated musician Rocky Dawuni has issued a passionate plea for immediate change across Africa. Speaking at the University of Ghana, the Pan-African ambassador warned that the continent cannot wait decades for reform. He argues that the current crisis requires an “Agenda Now” approach rather than distant goals.
Dawuni highlighted the devastating conflict in Sudan as a failure of African solidarity. He expressed deep concern over how internal and external interests are tearing nations apart. For Dawuni, these “self-inflicted wounds” are stalling the continent’s massive potential. He urged leaders to focus on using local resources to uplift their own people.
The “Maestro” also sounded an alarm regarding the youth exodus to Europe. He described the dangerous journeys across the Sahara as a heartbreaking indictment of poor governance. Disillusioned by a lack of hope at home, many young Africans are risking everything for a new dream abroad. Dawuni believes that music and culture must now become the tools for urgent political accountability.
