Renowned Ghanaian highlife artist George Kwabena Adu, popularly known as Kwabena Kwabena, is celebrating 20 years since the release of his iconic debut album Asor with a special tribute to the title track that launched his career.
To mark this milestone, his management has announced an all-star remix of the beloved hit, featuring some of Ghana’s most celebrated musicians.

Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, the artist’s manager, Nana Poku Ashis, revealed that the remix is being crafted to reflect the depth and cultural impact of the original song.
“It’s an all-star project — a star-studded song. Asor is that big, so if you’re going to touch it, you must do it properly or not at all,” he said.
Ashis emphasized that the goal is not to chase viral moments or fleeting trends. Instead, the remix aims to create something enduring, much like the original track that introduced Kwabena Kwabena’s unique sound to the nation in 2004.
“This isn’t just about trending. It’s about timelessness. It needs to feature musicians who truly understand music — people like Okyeame Kwame. That’s the only way to do it justice,” he added.
The remix is just one part of a broader celebration. Starting in August 2025, Kwabena Kwabena will embark on a global tour to mark the anniversary. The tour will take him across Africa, Europe, North America, and Australia, with performances in intimate venues that allow for meaningful fan engagement.
The Asor anniversary not only celebrates a breakthrough album but also honours two decades of musical excellence. It’s a tribute to an artist who has remained true to his craft while championing authenticity and quality in Ghanaian music.
