This year has brought a series of heartbreaking tragedies in Ghana — from a road accident that claimed the lives of 16 young people, to the passing of highlife icon Daddy Lumba, and most recently, a helicopter crash that killed several state officials. These painful events have left many deeply reflecting on the fragility of life.

On Monday, August 25, musician Kofi Kinaata shared his own thoughts on social media, revealing how heavily the losses have affected him.

He noted that the impact was even stronger after realizing he had traveled the same flight route as the crashed helicopter earlier this year. “Moments like these really make you question life… what’s the point, when it can all end in an instant?” he wrote.
Channelling his emotions into his craft, Kinaata has released a new song titled “It Is Finished.” The track reflects his grief while offering listeners a way to connect, heal, and process the collective sorrow the nation is enduring.
