King Promise says winning the Artiste of the Year award will motivate him to work even harder

King Promise, who recently won Artiste of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), has dismissed the popular notion that musicians tend to slow down after receiving such a major accolade. For him, the award isn’t a finish line—it’s a motivation to push even harder.

In an interview with DJ Slim and Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, he shared how the win has inspired him to raise the bar. Rather than taking a break, he plans to intensify his efforts and continue delivering hit songs.

“Even when I didn’t have any awards, I kept showing up with back-to-back hits,” he said. “Now that I’ve received the biggest one, I’m just going to keep going. Making music isn’t just a passion—it’s my calling. I was born for this.”

He emphasized that winning won’t slow him down but instead pushes him to work harder. His focus remains on creating great music, connecting with fans, and exploring new heights in his career.

With multiple awards at this year’s TGMAs—including Album of the Year, Best Afrobeats Artiste, and Best Afropop Song—King Promise continues to show why he’s one of Ghana’s most consistent and committed artists. His journey is far from over. He’s using every milestone as fuel to go further.
