Her name appeared on a list of 15 new diplomatic nominations, which includes ambassadors, high commissioners, and a consul-general designate. These appointments aim to strengthen Ghana’s global presence and international relations.

Sinare is one of Ghana’s most celebrated actresses. She has starred in films such as Out of Sight, Crossfire, Ties That Bind, and Trinity. In the 1990s and early 2000s, her performances made her a household name. Her acting journey also includes numerous stage plays and television dramas.

Over the years, she has received several awards, including honours at the Ghana Movie Awards and the Golden Movie Awards Africa, which recognized her enduring contribution to the arts.

Beyond acting, Sinare is a strong advocate for women’s empowerment and youth development. She holds a diploma in Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana, Legon, and a first degree in Public Service and Governance from GIMPA.

She recently earned a master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, also from GIMPA. These academic credentials prepare her for the demands of international diplomacy.

Spain is a key development partner for Ghana, especially in areas such as trade, tourism, renewable energy, and migration. Sinare’s role will involve strengthening these bilateral relations while promoting Ghana’s cultural identity.

All nominees are expected to undergo vetting and approval before they officially begin their diplomatic duties.

Kalsoume Sinare joins a growing list of creatives who have received national appointments under President Mahama’s leadership. Her new role highlights the expanding influence of Ghana’s arts and entertainment figures in shaping global diplomacy and national development.
