Jubed honors African heritage and his personal journey in new EP “From the Soil”

Rising Ghanaian Afro-fusion artist Jubed has released his highly anticipated 5-track EP, From the Soil. The project is vibrant, introspective, and rhythmically daring — a tribute to his African roots, life journey, and artistic development.

The EP follows the massive success of his breakout single, “Ruwa.” This track blends Hausa melodic elements with the pulsating rhythms of Amapiano. It quickly gained popularity across Ghana and the continent, becoming a celebrated anthem in many communities.

Ruwa really laid the foundation for me. It was raw, emotional, and true to my roots,” Jubed said. “With From the Soil, I wanted to dig deeper — to reflect the pain, the joy, and the beauty of where I come from.”

“Abena” opens the project with warmth and romance. It features Kojo Blak and combines traditional highlife sounds with Amapiano textures. The blend creates an emotionally rich groove that sets the tone.

“Jo!” — meaning “dance” in the Ga language — brings an energetic pulse. It celebrates joy and the vibrant spirit of Accra’s nightlife.

At the heart of the EP sits “Ruwa,” still praised for its authenticity and originality. Its position in the tracklist emphasizes its emotional and cultural weight.

“Gabaya” follows with an even deeper dive into Jubed’s fusion style. Folk chants and contemporary beats blend seamlessly, creating a soundscape that feels both nostalgic and fresh.

The final track is a remix of “Kilode,” featuring Nigerian pop star Seyi Shay. This collaboration adds a pan-African flair and shows Jubed’s ability to connect across borders while staying rooted in his identity.

The EP was produced by Kizzy and Egar Boi, with mixing and mastering by Authentic Mix. Their contributions give the project a polished finish, enhancing its emotional depth and sonic layers.

With From the Soil, Jubed cements his place as one of Ghana’s most exciting new voices. He is a storyteller shaped by tradition yet deeply attuned to the pulse of modern African music.
