Renowned British actor and filmmaker Idris Elba has proposed a strategic partnership with the Ghanaian government to develop an ultra-modern film and creative village on a section of coastal land near the Osu Castle in Accra.

The initiative is aimed at revitalizing Ghana’s film industry by creating opportunities for training, employment, and artistic expression for local creatives. The project also aligns with Elba’s broader mission to bring African stories to the global stage and strengthen Africa’s position in the international film industry.
During his visit to Ghana, Idris Elba met with President John Mahama at the Jubilee House, where he expressed his deep commitment to fostering growth in the African entertainment sector. He emphasized the need for infrastructure, investment, and talent development to position Ghana as a key player in global cinema.
His vision for the film and creative village includes state-of-the-art production facilities, training centers, and networking opportunities for aspiring filmmakers, actors, and industry professionals.
