Ghanaian songstress Gyakie has unveiled the official trailer for her much-anticipated debut album, After Midnight, set for release on 29th August 2025.
The visual, directed by award-winning filmmaker Alex Piper—renowned for collaborations with Rema, Playboi Carti, and Travis Scott—showcases Gyakie’s evolution as an artist with striking cinematic depth. It offers fans a closer look into the stories, emotions, and essence that define her first full-length project.

Daughter of Ghanaian highlife legend Nana Acheampong, Gyakie is carving her own path while upholding her family’s rich musical legacy. After Midnight, however, represents her unique artistic statement. She describes it as an intimate body of work inspired by the quiet mystery of the night.
“Almost every track on the album was recorded after midnight,” Gyakie shared. “That’s the time I feel most inspired—the calm, the sounds of nature, the serenity—it all feeds into my creativity.”
The album title mirrors this process, capturing the many moods of the after-hours. It reflects moments of deep thought, spirituality, and family traditions—like her mother’s midnight prayers—while also exploring themes of love, joy, heartbreak, and celebration that spill into dawn.
From its opening shot, Piper’s trailer hints that After Midnight will be Gyakie’s most personal yet universally relatable project—an invitation for listeners to live, love, reflect, and embrace the magic of the night.
Fans already familiar with her hits such as Never Like This, Sor Mi Mu (with Bisa Kdei), Forever, Need Me, Something, Whine, and Love is Pretty can now look forward to this next chapter. The trailer is already live online, offering a first glimpse of what promises to be one of the year’s standout releases.
