Ghanaian Afro-fusion singer Gyakie is set to thrill fans in Japan as she joins the lineup for the inaugural Afro Jam Festival, scheduled to run from July 18 to 27, 2025. The celebrated songstress will perform in Okinawa on July 18, Osaka on July 24, and Tokyo on July 27.
The Afro Jam Festival, which aims to introduce and celebrate Afrobeats culture in Asia, will also feature top-tier international acts such as Jason Derulo, Rema, Ruger, and Shenseea.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with host Kwame Dadzie, Gyakie expressed her excitement and surprise at the invitation.
“I’ve been getting a lot of DMs from my people in Japan who can’t wait for me to get there. When I got the news that they wanted me to perform, I had to pause and absorb the fact that I’d be heading to Asia. I still can’t believe it,” she said.
With Japan rapidly emerging as a promising market for Afrobeats, the festival is expected to further amplify the global appeal of the genre. Gyakie’s participation solidifies her position among the growing list of Ghanaian artistes breaking into Asian music markets, alongside King Promise, KiDi, and Santrofi band.
In addition to preparing for her Japan tour, Gyakie recently released a new single, “Sankofa,” the lead track from her highly anticipated upcoming album, “After Midnight.” The song showcases her signature blend of soulful melodies and rhythmic storytelling.
As the countdown to Afro Jam Festival begins, fans around the world await Gyakie’s performances, which promise to bring a fresh wave of Ghanaian sound to Asia’s vibrant music scene.
