GTA Organizes 2025 National Chocolate Week

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in collaboration with COCOBOD and the Cocoa Processing Company, has planned a series of activities for the 2025 National Chocolate Week celebrations.

This year’s celebration is themed “Eat Chocolate, Stay Healthy, Grow Ghana” with the sub-theme “Chocolate for all: taste, share, and care.”

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, the National Chocolate Week will take place from February 3 to February 14, 2025. The event aims to promote chocolate consumption and emphasize its health benefits.

Originally instituted in 2007 to coincide with Valentine’s Day on February 14, the National Chocolate Day was established to boost domestic consumption of Ghanaian chocolate and other cocoa-based products. In 2021, GTA and COCOBOD expanded the celebration into a week-long event, which has since been successfully organized annually.

The Black Star Experience and Ghana’s Cocoa Heritage

The Black Star Experience highlights Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, with cocoa as a symbol of national pride and economic strength.

“As we celebrate Chocolate Week, we honor the farmers who cultivate this prestigious crop, transforming it into the sweet delight enjoyed by millions worldwide. The Black Star shines brightly through Ghana’s cocoa, reflecting our nation’s resilience, innovation, and commitment to producing some of the world’s finest chocolate,” a press release from the GTA stated.

To mark the occasion, GTA’s regional offices will visit the Pediatric Units of Regional Hospitals on February 14, 2025, spreading love and joy through chocolate donations.
