Renowned broadcaster, gender advocate, and philanthropist, Oheneyere Gifty Anti, has been honoured with the Impactful Female Celebrity of the Year 2024 (Honorary) award at the inaugural Ghana Celebrity Impact Awards.
This recognition coincides with her ongoing nationwide humanitarian tour of orphanages across Ghana. She recently concluded the first phase of the tour, which covered the Western and Central regions, where she visited six orphanages and distributed insecticide-treated nets to nearly 500 children and their caregivers.
Reacting to the honour, Oheneyere expressed deep gratitude and reaffirmed her dedication to using her influence for the betterment of society.
“Chai… this only means that I have to lift my impactful ‘game’ to a higher level. Making an impact is the greatest legacy,” she wrote. “All glory to God. I am only but a vessel. It’s about using my platform and influence to make an impact in society, especially the needy and vulnerable.”
Her recent outreach included visits to orphanages in Ellembelle, Egyam (Ahanta West), Anto (Shama) in the Western Region, and Komenda, Gomoa East, and Awutu in the Central Region. Supported by the National Malaria Elimination Programme, the initiative provided children with insecticide-treated nets and refreshments as part of efforts to fight malaria in Ghana.
Oheneyere’s journey is far from over. Her next destination is the Volta Region, where she and her team will continue the campaign in Kpando, Akatsi, and Keta this Tuesday.
Speaking on her broader vision, she emphasized that “making an impact is the greatest legacy”, hinting at a possible media appearance after the Volta Region leg to share more about her journey and future plans.
