Justice Ornan Abadah, a highly skilled Ghanaian film director, has been honored with the prestigious title of Supreme African Film Director of the Year at the recent SDTA Awards. This accolade celebrates his outstanding contributions to the film industry, particularly for his latest masterpiece, “I Was Here,” which is currently drawing audiences to Silverbird Cinemas.

Co-directed by Justice Ornan Abadah and Cleveland Harris, “I Was Here” tells the moving story of Ashley Gardner, whose life takes an unexpected turn after being diagnosed with breast cancer at the peak of her career. The film delves into Ashley’s journey as she seeks support from her closest friends and family while unraveling a life-altering secret. Through its heartfelt exploration of love, loss, and the enduring power of relationships, the film has struck a chord with viewers.

Justice Ornan Abadah’s filmmaking journey began in 2009, shortly after high school, where he first made his mark as an actor in television. He later transitioned into directing, gaining recognition for works like “Julor” (2019), which explored the complexities of marriage. His storytelling talent and dedication to the cinematic arts have made him an inspiring figure in the industry.
Abadah’s diverse filmography reflects his creative versatility, with notable projects such as “Kinda Complicated” (2023) and “Gina’s Date Night” (2024).
