Ghanaian poet and playwright Chief Moomen is set to perform at the Earth to Space Festival, scheduled for April 2025 at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.
Announcing the news on his Facebook page, he wrote: “On April 5th, 2025, I will bring the best of my storytelling prowess to bear, honed over two decades of practice and underpinned by centuries of ancestral tradition, in an exclusive one-man show as part of the EARTH to SPACE festival at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.”
He also shared that he will be joining a distinguished lineup of Nobel Laureates, poets, astronauts, musicians, researchers, visual artists, engineers, actors, environmentalists, architects, astronomers, dancers, scientists, filmmakers, and more at the event.
Chief Moomen highlighted that the festival will feature a series of spectacular and thought-provoking events under the theme “Earth to Space: Arts Breaking the Sky.”
The Earth to Space Festival is a multidisciplinary event that merges art, science, and technology to celebrate the marvels of space while also emphasizing the importance of protecting our planet.
According to Chief Moomen, his participation includes a performance at the festival’s launch on April 1, 2025, at 8 PM, with his main show scheduled for April 5, 2025.

For over a decade, Chief Moomen has solidified his place as a leading figure in Ghana’s poetry and theatre scene, working tirelessly to showcase his craft on the global stage. His ambitious storytelling project, The Mansa World, launched at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris on October 18, 2023, has garnered widespread acclaim.
One of his most remarkable productions, Mansa Musa and the Trail of Lost Gold, The Prelude, brings to life the vibrant history of ancient West Africa through an epic musical theatre experience. This grand production, featuring a 150-member cast and crew, premiered at Ghana’s National Theatre on January 24, 2025, with another staging planned for March 2025.
