Ghana has been recognized as the 2nd safest country to live in Africa for 2025, according to a report by Altezza Travel, a destination management company based in Tanzania.
The ranking highlights Ghana’s strengths, including an independent judicial system, multiparty democracy, freedom of speech, and a free press.

- On the Global Peace Index, Ghana outperformed countries such as Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, China, and Jamaica.
- The country achieved a zero score on the Terrorism Index, ranking among the safest globally.
- Ghana’s crime rate is notably lower than in countries like Canada, Greece, and Australia.
While Ghana lags behind “first-world” nations in the Global Safety Report and Human Development Index, it remains a leader among African countries, outperforming popular tourist destinations like Kenya, Ethiopia, and Madagascar.
