Ghana-Naija Food Festival Lights up Accra with Music, Culture, and Culinary Delights

On Saturday, October 5, the much-awaited Ghana-Nigeria Food & Culture Festival took place in GHUD Park at Accra Mall, transforming the venue into a bustling cultural melting pot in honor of the common heritage of the two West African countries. Thousands of people came to the festival, which took place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., wanting to enjoy the finest of Nigerian and Ghanaian music, food, and culture.

The festival’s main attraction was the incredible Ghanaian performer Stonebwoy, who wowed the audience with a high-octane performance. Notable artists including Michy, Naa Meerley, SDK, Bra Kofi, Drela, Alhaji Theozzy, and the well-known Nkyinkyim Band joined him on stage. Their blend of Afrobeats, Highlife, and Hip-Hop beats echoed throughout the park, keeping the excitement high.

The festival’s cuisine area, which had more than 90 food vendors serving a variety of modern and traditional Ghanaian and Nigerian dishes, was its beating heart. From Nigeria’s suya and pounded yam to Ghana’s famous jollof rice and kelewele, foodies savored the flavorful and rich meals that embodied the best of both nations’ culinary traditions. Participants took part in a culinary adventure, tasting traditional flavors as well as contemporary takes on traditional meals.

However, the festival was not just a haven for foodies. Live acts illuminated the main stage throughout the day, offering something for everyone in the music and entertainment schedule. The surging rhythms, which fused Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, and Highlife, compelled attendees to dance, spreading an infectious energy across GHUD Park.
The cultural zone provided a closer-up view of both countries’ customs. Participants in the event enjoyed hands-on activities, fascinating exhibits, and culinary demonstrations by skilled chefs showcasing the flavors and methods that have made Nigerian and Ghanaian food so well-known across the globe.

Families with young guests were catered to as well, with a special kids’ area offering many hours of entertainment in the form of games, competitions, and captivating activities.

The festival’s organizer, Aspirar International, CEO Rebecca Osam, expressed her happiness with the event’s success. “We are beyond thrilled with the turnout and the energy here today,” stated Osam. “Our shared heritage is truly celebrated during the Ghana-Nigeria Food & Culture Festival. We’ve been able to build an occasion that unites people in the present while simultaneously celebrating our past via cuisine, music, and culture. This celebration is about sharing happiness, and unity, and creating enduring memories. We’re already making plans for next year, and I promise there will be even more excitement. All those present had an incredibly immersive experience because of the festival’s fusion of cuisine, music, and culture, which helped to heal the cultural gap between Ghana and Nigeria through common customs, tastes, and sounds.
The sense of unity that persisted throughout the festival as it drew to an end was evidence of the ability of culture, cuisine, and music to unite people.
