The initiative, designed to spotlight Ghana’s creative industry and unique traditions on a global stage, aims to inspire national pride and nurture a new generation of artists and cultural advocates. The pendant is set to serve as a symbolic representation of the country’s vibrant culture and diversity.

Held under the theme “Experience Ghana: Gateway to Africa,” the event attracted an impressive lineup of guests including actor and National Film Authority Executive Secretary James Gardiner, Ghanaian-American comedian Michael Blackson, filmmaker Fred Nuamah, and Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD). The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Houadjeto, was also in attendance.

Organised by MentraxOro Jewellery, the ceremony drew dignitaries from the diplomatic community, high-level government officials, CEOs, and key players from the creative arts sector. A representative from the Ga Mantse Palace also attended to honor the occasion and lend traditional significance.

Victor Wellrich, Head of Marketing at Mentrax Refinery, emphasized that the Ghana Gold Pendant reflects the depth of Ghanaian artistry and is part of ongoing efforts to promote the country’s culture, arts, and tourism through innovative, locally crafted initiatives.

He added that the launch aligns with the government’s broader vision of establishing Ghana as a top cultural and tourism destination in Africa.

The exclusive, invite-only event was more than a product launch—it was a cultural celebration filled with live music, traditional performances, and a showcase of Ghana’s creative talent.

KOD, also Presidential Adviser on Diaspora Affairs, noted that the Ghana Gold Pendant is poised to strengthen Ghana’s position as a premier destination for cultural and heritage tourism.

The evening’s proceedings were expertly hosted by media personality Kafui Danku.
