Madam Georgina Tabiri, a distinguished Ghanaian art educator, artist, and CEO of Nordcraft Mall, is committed to preserving and promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage through visual arts.
As a teacher at Bongo Senior High School, she integrates traditional African art into contemporary education, mentoring young artists and advocating for the role of art in national development.
With a background in Graphic Design from the University of Education, Winneba, and an MPhil in Communication Design from KNUST, Madam Tabiri brings extensive expertise to Ghana’s art community. Over the past five years, she has inspired students to embrace creativity, cultural identity, and local materials in their artistic expression.

She incorporates traditional motifs, Adinkra symbols, and indigenous techniques into her lessons, ensuring cultural preservation while fostering appreciation for African aesthetics.
Beyond the classroom, she has showcased Ghanaian art alongside her students in various exhibitions, merging traditional and modern artistic styles. Her own works often reflect Ghanaian folklore, textiles, and societal values, particularly drawing inspiration from intricate kente patterns.
She is also a strong advocate for the inclusion of art in Ghana’s education system, emphasizing its role in social change, cultural preservation, and economic empowerment.
To further support young artists, Madam Tabiri launched the “Catch Them Young” initiative, which introduces art to students in basic and junior high schools through hands-on training and practical art sessions. She highlights the numerous career opportunities in the field, including roles in graphic design, animation, gaming, digital media, and education.
Despite her efforts, she acknowledges the challenges facing Ghana’s art sector, such as limited government support, inadequate funding, and a lack of exhibition spaces.
To address these issues, she calls for increased investment from both the government and private sector, revitalization of art education, and the promotion of public art initiatives.
With her unwavering dedication, Madam Georgina Tabiri continues to be a driving force in Ghana’s art scene, nurturing the next generation of artists while preserving and advancing the nation’s artistic heritage.
