Sisters Across Oceans

Ehalakasa & West Oakland to West Africa presents a night of reading and performances from their latest anthology, Sisters Across Oceans.

This collection, Sisters Across Oceans, was inspired by conversations amongst writers from Ghana and the diaspora.

Links Inc. (Hawaii Chapter), EhaLaKasa, and West Oakland to West Africa (WO2WA) hosted an eight-week writers’ exchange for women from Hawaii, California and Accra.

Using the renshi form, where each poem was started by the line of the poem previously received by poet partners, writers responded to each other’s thoughts. The book is thus ordered in pairs, such that each chapter reflects a paired exchange based on specific themes.
