A Night of Performances

A night of performances in honour of theatre icon Dr. Mohammed Ben Abdallah, a playwright, an academic and cultural luminary.

As Secretary of Culture and Education under the PNDC government Dr. Abdallah’s accomplishments included playing a pivotal role in the building of the National Theatre, the conceptualization and establishment of the National Commission on Culture, a system of Centres for National Culture at the regional and district levels as well as sites of memory such as the W.E.B. DuBois Memorial Centre for Pan African Culture and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

He was also responsible for establishing the Pan African Historical Theatre Festival (PANAFEST) as another Ghanaian contribution to Pan-Africanism.
