Popular Ghanaian gospel musician and Watch Me hitmaker, Empress Gifty, emerged as the Artiste of the Year at the sixth edition of the Ghana Music Awards USA, held on Saturday, August 16, at ACX1 Studios in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Empress, who earlier won Song of the Year at the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), triumphed over strong contenders including King Promise, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Fameye, KiDi, King Paluta, and Team Eternity to claim the top honour.
She also secured the Gospel Song of the Year title, marking a remarkable double win on the night.
The awards ceremony, which honours Ghanaian musical talent both locally and in the diaspora, also celebrated US-based artistes such as Jay Hover, C-Ben, and Kay Rockz.

Tributes were paid to late Highlife greats Dada KD and Daddy Lumba, while veteran musician Gyedu-Blay Ambolley received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
The event featured electrifying performances from Empress Gifty herself, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, Kofi Kinaata, and comedian OB Amponsah.
In her acceptance speech, Empress Gifty expressed heartfelt gratitude to God, her fans, her manager, and the Ghana Music Awards USA team for the recognition. She also thanked radio stations, DJs, and loyal supporters, adding: “I have a grateful heart. Thank you to everyone who voted and continues to support my journey. God bless you all.”
