Ghanaian sound engineer and Outluk Records founder Daniel Ayittah has officially been inducted into the Recording Academy’s 2025 New Member Class.
This recognition makes him the first Ghanaian gospel sound engineer to join the prestigious global music body. He is among nearly 3,600 professionals selected from around the world this year.

The Recording Academy, organizers of the annual GRAMMY Awards, continues to work toward greater diversity and inclusion. Their efforts aim to broaden representation within both their voting membership and professional networks.
In a social media post, Ayittah shared his excitement and gratitude:
“I’m honoured and humbled to officially join the Recording Academy’s 2025 New Member Class—an inspiring global community of creators and professionals shaping the future of music.
This milestone is more than just a personal achievement—it’s a testament to every late night in the studio, every mix revision, and all the support I’ve received along the way.”
He added:
“As a member, I now have a voice in the GRAMMY Awards process and a platform to advocate for our industry, support my peers, mentor the next generation of engineers, and grow in my own journey.”
Over the last ten years, Ayittah has become one of Africa’s most respected gospel mix engineers. He is known for his distinctive sound and creative mixing techniques.
Starting from a simple university studio, he built Outluk Records in Accra into a professional-grade facility. His portfolio includes work with major gospel artists like Joe Mettle, Sinach, Dunsin Oyekan, Moses Bliss, Victoria Orenze, and CalledOut Music, among others.
Ayittah’s career journey has taken him from Accra to Nashville, Tennessee, where he trained with some of the industry’s finest. He learned under renowned engineers such as John “Yosh” Jaszcz, Randy Poole, Jon Blass, Adam David Smith, and AyRon Lewis.
These international experiences helped refine his approach and established him as a go-to engineer in both African and global gospel circles.
Now, Ayittah hopes to give back through mentorship and education. He is planning a series of workshops and online masterclasses to support and train young engineers across the continent.
His goal is to expand Outluk Records’ impact by inspiring the next wave of audio professionals in Africa.
