A national candlelight vigil in honour of the late highlife icon, Charles Kwadwo Fosu — affectionately known as Daddy Lumba — will be held at Independence Square in Accra on Saturday, August 2, 2025, beginning at 6 p.m. The event is being organised under the auspices of the Creative Arts Agency.

As part of activities to commemorate his life and legacy, the Fosu family will also open a Book of Condolence at his private residence, located at House No. 12, Kinshasha Crescent, Accra (GA-332-9264), starting Tuesday, July 29, 2025. The book will be open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In a statement released on July 27, 2025, the family extended heartfelt gratitude to friends, fans, colleagues, and the general public for the overwhelming outpouring of love, prayers, and support since the passing of their beloved Daddy Lumba after a short illness.

“During this time of profound sorrow, your compassion and solidarity have been a source of immense comfort,” the statement read.

The family also appealed for continued privacy as they mourn, while encouraging Ghanaians to join in honouring the remarkable life and lasting impact of the legendary musician.

Further details regarding funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
