Ghanaian dancers Afronita and Abigail’s 2024 Britain’s Got Talent semifinal performance was dubbed “unbelievable” by judge Amanda Holden.
The pair showcased their incredible talent and celebrated their Ghanaian ancestry with an exhilarating dance that left the judges and audience in disbelief.
Afronita and Abigail sang a mix of well-known songs, including as “Azonto” by Fuse ODG, “Run The World” by Beyoncé, and “Gweta” by Toofan.
They received a standing ovation for their performance, and even during the judges’ evaluations, the audience enthusiastically showered them with applause.
“It’s a pleasure to look at you; you truly are a spirit tonic.” Your personality truly comes through, your musicality is incredible, and your distinct dancing technique is so lovely. Bruno Tonioli, the judge, told them, “Love you, love you.”
Afronita and Abigail received acclaim even from the famously strict judge Simon Cowell, who said, “When you’ve got it, you’ve got it.”
He said that the Ghanaian dancers had left him completely bewildered and that, despite knowing who would win the competition just a day earlier, he was now second-guessing his prediction after watching their captivating act.
Following the competition, Afronita expressed her gratitude for having made it this far.
“This is a huge testimony for me, Abigail, Ghana, and everyone who supports us,” she continued. We have so much gratitude. I’m grateful to God and everyone for the emotional experience.
On the fourth night of the semi-finals, Afronita and Abigail won the public vote, and they advanced to the finale. On Sunday, they will compete against ten other contestants in the finale.
