Bobby Banson, a legal expert with a strong interest in copyright issues, has advised individuals in the creative arts industry to moderate their reliance on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their work.

During an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with host Kwame Dadzie, Bobby emphasized that while AI offers valuable tools to enhance creativity and productivity, it should not become the core of a creative’s process.

“AI is meant to support your creativity—not replace it. Don’t let it become the foundation of your work,” he stated. “Yes, technology is here to stay, but no form of technology remains static. It evolves. Just like traditional cameras were once the standard but are now challenged by smartphones, AI, too, could be overtaken by newer innovations in a few years.”

He warned that if creatives build their entire careers around a single technology like AI, they may find themselves obsolete when the next wave of innovation arrives. “No technology has yet matched the potential of the human brain,” he added, stressing the importance of preserving originality and human ingenuity.

On the subject of copyright, Bobby noted that discussions are ongoing globally to develop legislation that clearly defines how AI intersects with Intellectual Property laws. These conversations, he said, are crucial as the creative world adapts to rapid technological changes.
