Black Sherif is Ghana’s sole nominee at the 2025 BET Awards

Ghanaian music star Black Sherif has earned a nomination at the 2025 BET Awards, securing a spot in the prestigious Best International Act category.

This recognition makes him the only Ghanaian artiste nominated in this year’s awards, placing him among a powerful lineup of global talents.

Black Sherif will go head-to-head with international acts including Nigeria’s Ayra Starr and Rema, South Africa’s Tyla, Swaziland’s Uncle Waffles, Brazil’s Gabrielly and MC Luanna, France’s Joé Dwèt Filé and SDM, as well as the UK’s Basky and Ezra Collective.

In 2023, the “Sacrifice” hitmaker took home the Best International Flow award at the BET Hip Hop Awards, becoming the second Ghanaian to do so after Sarkodie’s 2019 win.

Renowned for his heartfelt lyrics, compelling storytelling, and genre-blending sound that fuses trap, highlife, and drill, Black Sherif has captured the hearts of fans worldwide and carved a niche as one of Africa’s most dynamic voices.
