In his keynote address, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II underscored the importance of art in shaping Ghanaian identity. He reflected on how art helped unite various ethnic groups, especially during Ghana’s journey to independence.

“Art, as we know it, played a critical and functional role in the formation of societies among virtually all ethnic groups in Ghana—from pre-colonial times, through cultural imperialism, to our independence in 1957,” he noted.

He also acknowledged Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s efforts in using art to promote national unity and support visionary creatives.

The event attracted attention beyond Ghana. Delegations from Nigeria, the Republic of Benin, and the Republic of Seychelles were present, signaling a shared commitment to promoting African creativity on a global scale. The initiative aims to engage not only artists but also policymakers and cultural advocates across the continent.
