Amandzeba Nat Brew portrays Naa Amanua Dodoo’s music as a genuine expression of Ghanaian art and culture

Highlife musician Amandzeba Nat Brew honored the late Naa Amanua Dodoo, a traditional music icon, as the embodiment of Ghanaian arts and culture.

Amandzeba Nat Brew pays tribute to the late Naa Amanua Dodoo, a legendary Ghanaian Ga musician and former lead singer of Wulomei.

He emphasized her significant inspiration to numerous musicians, including himself. Amandzeba highlighted her resilience in maintaining her musical career, a feat he recognized as challenging for many women in the industry. He stressed her essential role in Ghanaian ceremonies and her widespread love and respect.

Amandzeba lamented the common tendency to celebrate heroes only after their passing, asserting that Naa Amanua’s loss would be deeply felt by all Ghanaians.

He also revealed plans to incorporate a recorded conversation with her into his music, underscoring its personal value.

Naa Amanua, the renowned Ga musician and former lead singer of Wulomei, died on December 16, 2024. Her funeral, held on March 29, 2025, at the State House in Accra, was attended by family, musicians, cultural figures, and dignitaries, who came to pay their respects to her legacy in traditional Ga music.
