Adjetey Anang expresses joy as years of dedication to theatre begin to yield results

Adjetey Anang Celebrates Theatre Progress, Calls for Unity and Corporate Support.

Renowned Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang has expressed his joy over the steady progress being made in the country’s theatre industry, saying it is rewarding to see years of hard work beginning to pay off.

In an interview with Doreen Avio, Adjetey Anang reflected on his long-standing commitment to theatre development in Ghana. While acknowledging the visible impact of their efforts, he emphasized that sustaining this growth will require even greater collaboration.

“It’s truly a relief,” he said. “We’ve worked tirelessly over the years, hoping for a moment like this. Now, we’re beginning to see the fruits of that labour. But we can’t do it alone — that’s why our relationship with audiences who consistently support our work is so important.”

The celebrated actor also made a passionate appeal to the corporate sector and relevant stakeholders to come on board and support the creative arts.

“We’re extending an open invitation to the corporate world and all stakeholders. There’s so much we can achieve together. It’s exciting to know that even greater things lie ahead, but we need all hands on deck to make it happen,” he added.

Adjetey Anang further urged his peers within the creative space to foster unity and support one another in order to build a resilient industry.

“It all starts with us — how we treat one another, how we show respect and solidarity. When we build that unity internally, it sends a powerful message to the world. Even in our disagreements, we must remain one. We shouldn’t air our differences publicly. Let’s be each other’s keeper and create a strong front that no challenge can break,” he advised.

He made these remarks at the launch of Ghana Must Go, an upcoming theatre production by Latif Abubakar’s Globe Productions.
