After earlier accusations of copyright infringement, veteran Ghanaian highlife musician Adane Best has stated that he has forgiven fellow artist Kuami Eugene.
Previously, Adane Best had charged Kuami with stealing tunes from his own compositions without giving due credit.
The “Wo Bre Na Wenya” hitmaker appreciated Kuami Eugene’s talent and accomplishments in an interview with Asempa Showbiz Review but urged him to keep growing and learning for his music.
“I have said it before… Kuami Eugene is good, very, very good, and I commend him. But he should keep learning. That’s how it’s done. He doesn’t have to think he knows it all,” he stated.
Though he emphasized that he no longer feels the need to linger on the subject, Adane Best reflected on their previous issues and restated his assertion that some of Kuami Eugene’s songs were influenced by his earlier works.
“If you know music, you can tell that most of the melodies he used were from my songs. I can prove it, but that’s not important now. It’s an old issue, and I don’t want to dwell on it,” he noted.
The highlife icon also revealed that he had decided to forgive Kuami Eugene, saying that nobody would gain by clinging to the past. “I have forgiven him. I have wronged others before, so when someone wrongs me, like Kuami Eugene, I let it go,” Adane Best concluded.
