Office of Diaspora Affairs Teams Up with Chef Abbys to Promote Ghanaian Cuisine Worldwide

The Office of Diaspora Affairs, under the Presidency, has officially endorsed Chef Abbys’ brand and her Diaspora Culinary Initiatives.

Under the leadership of Director Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), this partnership seeks to showcase Ghana’s rich culinary heritage while strengthening ties with the global diaspora community.

The collaboration focuses on promoting indigenous African cuisine that has gained recognition across Africa and beyond. By integrating Chef Abbys’ brand into diaspora engagement programs, the initiative aims to amplify her work, expand Ghana’s cultural influence, and elevate the country’s presence in international culinary diplomacy.

Aligned with the Office’s theme, “Build Bridges & Break Barriers,” the partnership also supports government priorities such as the 24-hour Economy agenda and the Black Star Experience. Both initiatives spotlight the hospitality and creative sectors as key drivers of youth employment, investment, and diaspora engagement.

As outlined in the agreement, “The Office of Diaspora Affairs will collaborate with your team to enhance the visibility of these initiatives across global diaspora networks, encourage active participation from public and private stakeholders, and provide protocol support to ensure inclusive engagement. This will also boost media and content collaboration.”

Chef Abbys has built a strong international following by blending gastronomy, culture, and diaspora engagement. Through her work, Ghanaian cuisine is being positioned as a cultural export that promotes tourism, trade, and soft diplomacy.

With more than 1.1 million TikTok followers and 18.5 million likes, Chef Abbys goes beyond traditional cooking demonstrations. Her content celebrates Ghanaian traditions, culture, and community, further strengthening the global appreciation of Ghana’s culinary identity.
